Dragon Boats, Hee Haw, Grease is the Word, Absolutely Alabama, and MORE!

Summer is in full gear and we've had some pretty amazing events and things going on in Marshall County!

Did you make it out to see the Spring 2 Summer Wakeboarding Tournament? With hundreds of spectators and many participants, it made for an awesome day to be out on the lake, watching some talented wakeboarding!

Albertville just got through hosting the 12 yr old Dizzy Dean baseball tournament, with 15 teams and many staying in Marshall County, it is always a great economic impact!

We were on site for registration and got to have our new display booth on hand that we will use at expos, events, trade shows, etc. What do y'all think?display

 

This weekend, you and your family will want to get out and enjoy the weather and activities going on!

On Friday night, the Lake Guntersville State Park is showing the movie "Tangled" at the Nature Center at 8 pm! Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the movie and the nice evening!

On Saturday, Boaz hosts the Antique & Power Show:

And in Guntersville, Habitat for Humanity hosts the 2nd Annual Dragon Boat Races at Civitan Park, beginning at 8:00 am.

 The Lake Guntersville State Park will have Larry Beane, LRC NPS Ranger, discussing "Native American Weapons and Tools" with many on display at the Nature Center at 1 pm on Saturday. They will also have a puppet show at the Buckeye Pavilion at 8 pm.

 

And last, but certainly not least, the Whole Backstage Theatre presents "Grease" opening this weekend!

The Friday night performance is sold out, but tickets are available for the remaining shows so get yours today!

Also, be sure and tune in to WAFF this Sunday night at 10:30 pm to see Albertville featured on Absolutely Alabama.

Lucky #7 Spring2Summer Wakeboarding Tournament Rolls Into Town!

The Marshall County Convention & Visitors Bureau is a proud sponsor of the 7th annual Spring2Summer Wakeboarding tournament, happening June 20-22 in Guntersville, AL. The event is put on by Wake Factory productions and organizer and pro wakeboarder, Dustin Middlebrooks.

Friday, Russell Marine and Hyperlite Pro Rider Trever Maur present a “Hyperlite Experience,” demonstration from 9 am to 4 pm at the Steel Ford boat ramp, followed by a kickoff party at the Wyndham Hotel from 7-10 pm.
The actual wakeboarding contest is Saturday only, beginning at 9 am and going until sunset. Registration is still open online at www.wakefactory.net as well as on site all day Friday and Saturday morning. It is open for ages and skill levels to compete. All activities are free and open to the public to view at the Steel Ford boat ramp.

Sunday, Guntersville’s newest wakeboarding shop, Wake Guntersville, located inside Lake Guntersville Pool and Patio, presents the “Hyperlite Experience” demonstration from 9 am to 4 pm.
