Marshall Co. 'May'hem

We are already halfway through May--one of the busiest months it seems...schools is rapping up, graduations, wedding showers, baby showers, ballgames, vacations, etc. It seems like there is always something going on in our busy lives!

It's been a great last couple of weeks here in Marshall County!

On April 24-26, the FLW Rayovac Series was in town, with over 300 anglers competing for the grand prize of $40,000 and a new boat! Jonathan Henry, pictured below won the three day tournament with over 77 pounds of fish!fishing

That same weekend, Marshall County welcomed the Muzzy Classic Bowfishing tournament (pictured above).

With around 80 boats and 250 anglers, the weather cooperated and many huge and near record setting buffalo, carp, and gar fish were caught.

National Tourism week was May 4-10 and our office celebrated by hosting a tourism breakfast at Hampton Inn Lake Guntersville on Friday, May 9th. We invited city officials, lodging properties, and others in the tourism industry. Spices Smokehouse catered the yummy food--candied bacon is all we have to say. The whole meal had everyone raving!

Here is a great video we shared with the crowd featuring some of the many faces that keep tourism in Marshall County thriving!

Wednesday morning, the Lake Guntersville's Early Bird Breakfast was at Riverview Campground. It was a nice morning and relaxing morning to be outside under the pavilioriverviewcollagen, enjoying breakfast prepared by Jamokas and Char Burger! Riverview has got some exciting things coming this summer--including paddleboards, canoes, kayaks, and many more water activities, as well as live music, retreats, and is a perfect spot to set up for the week or the weekend with your family and friends!
