In the spring, Guntersville celebrates the talent and originality of local and regional artisans at the annual Art on the Lake event. This year's festival will take place April 16-17, 2016 and will feature more than 120 artisans, as well as music, food, and children’s activities. Art on the Lake is held along the waterfront.
The second annual Alabama Farm and Poultry Expo will be held on April 8-9, 2016 at the Boaz Outlet Center in Boaz, Alabama. The Expo will feature Farm & Poultry Exhibits, indoor Arts & Crafts, Free Children’s Play Area, BBQ Chicken Cook-off and Backyard Poultry Show and Entertainment nightly.
In the summer, Arab pays homage to the Poke Salad (a green grown in abundance around North Alabama) with the annual Poke Salat Festival. Scheduled for May 21, 2016, the festival includes arts and craft vendors, food, children’s activities, and a concert in the city park. Local restaurants offer up a variety of dishes featuring the honorary poke salad plant.
Music takes front and center stage in August with Albertville’s Main Street Music Festival. With two days of music and fun, families will find a variety of entertainment including food, vendors, and even water fun. The 2016 festival will be held August 5-6.
Find a great bargain at the Grant Mile Plus Yard Sale, held on the last Saturday in September. This event attracts booth vendors from all across North Alabama and has become an annual tradition, stretching the length of Main Street atop Grant Mountain.
In October, join Boaz for the Annual Harvest Festival. A Southern tradition, this festival offers Arts & Crafts, Delicious Food, a 5K Harvest Run and Fun Walk, a Motorcycle Poker Run, a fun children's area, an Antique Car Show and a Chili Cook-off. The 2016 festival will be held October 7-8.
From Thanksgiving to Christmas, Arab City Park is a-light with Christmas in the Park. More than two million lights are displayed along the park’s mile-long walking trail. Visitors can walk the paved walkway and enjoy the magical display of festive lights each evening until around 10 p.m.
